NIGERIA - Eligible former Tottenham Hotspurs academy product Noni Madueke is expected to square up against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow when his current club PSV Eindhoven face the Gunners in the UEFA Europa League.

Madueke, 20, is an England U-21 international who has been impressive since joining the Dutch giants from the Tottenham Academy in 2018. Tomorrow night, he will face his former club's fierce north London rivals in a match that was originally scheduled to be played in September but was postponed in the aftermath of the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

Madueke has not featured for the Dutch Eredivisie giants this season due to an ankle injury he sustained in pre-season but is not back. He has recovered from the injury having resumed full training, putting him in contention to be named in the squad which arrives in London today.

PSV manager Van Nistelrooy, said: "The match against FC Utrecht came just too early but I expect Madueke to join on Thursday. With competition, you push each other to the limit and the players know that there are matches every three days."

Madueke, a dashing winger, made a bold decision to join PSV in the summer of 2018 after declining a scholarship at Tottenham Hotspur. In 71 career appearances for the Eindhoven club, he has directly participated in 32 goals, finding the back of the net 18 times and providing 14 assists.

So far, Madueke is yet to represent England or any country at the senior level but is eligible to represent Nigeria and the Three Lions. He was born in the UK to Nigerian parents, making him eligible to feature for the Super Eagles.
